Minden's Lukas Kister is loan to Hahlen

The cooperation between the two clubs in the Minden-Lübbecke district has been agreed upon. Lukas Kister will play for the regional division team from Hahlen during the loan period until the end of the season, and the top talent of GWD Minden will gain match practice there.

Kister has already played 13 games for GWD Minden this season - mostly in the European Cup. He scored 34 goals and prepared 14 more. In the GWD jersey, he also gained experience in the Bundesliga and the DHB Cup.

Now, with the move to Hahlen, the 20-year-old is to take on more responsibility. "I want to keep developing and collect playing time. I think that will succeed very well in Hahlen," said Kister. "I spoke to coach Sebastian Bagats about the opportunities there in advance."

Kister has been active in the GWD youth sector since 2016 and signed his first professional contract in 2021. In the current season, the left-hander is an integral part of the Bundesliga team and has been able to prove his potential, especially in the European Cup. In the development team in the 3rd league, Kister was used almost exclusively as a backcourt player in the past. Although he feels more comfortable there, he can also play in the left wing position in Hahlen.

The fact that Hahlen wants to use him in this position could also be an advantage for GWD Minden with a view to the coming season. The loan to the regional league rivals thus fits into the long-term plans of the Bundesliga club.

"This is a good option for Lukas, so that he can further mature as a player at a high level with consistent playing time," says GWD sports director Frank von Behren.
