About Andrew Giles
Andrew James Giles was born on 31 July 1973 in Australia. He is a Labor member of the Australian House of Representatives and has represented the Division of Scullin since September 2013.
Prior to his election to the House of Representatives, Giles worked as a lawyer and policy advisor.
Ministerial Responsibilities
As Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, Giles is responsible for a range of policy areas, including:
- Immigration and border protection
- Citizenship and multicultural affairs
- Refugee and humanitarian settlement
Giles is committed to working with stakeholders to develop and implement policies that support a fair, orderly and humane immigration system.
